The theme of the mutability of life and the permanence of art with an extraneous and an enchanting sensuousness abundantly appeals Greek mythology and medieval life as themes of poetry; but whatever the themes the poet charged them all with the spirit of high romance. John Keats, was a great artist whose poems no doubt remarkable for the rounded felicity of expression and marvellous verbal pictures.He yearned a life of sensations rather than of thoughts. "Where Shelley's was a poetry of impalpable ideas and visions, Keats's was of the concrete world of the five senses." Yet in his poems, specially in his Odes a sensation often crystallizes by gradual degrees into a thought-"on the agony, the strife of human hearts"-
